General info
About the client
nyra health is a Vienna-based company that has created an AI-powered platform dedicated to diagnosing and treating neurological disorders. The company focuses on providing rehabilitation to individuals recovering from neurological conditions, helping them return to a normal state and restore a fulfilling life under the supervision of their doctors.
Client’s results
With a successful, user-friendly mobile app already in place, the client aimed to go further and design a web platform called “nyra insights” for medical professionals to monitor and manage their patients’ recovery. We complemented the client’s well-designed UX by developing an industry-specific, solid, and easy-to-use interface. As a result, the platform’s traffic grew by 16%.

Chapter 1
Kick-off
The client came to us with a functional product, but they needed our expertise in the systematization of extensive data sets, establishing a well-structured hierarchy, and improvements in UI. Considering this, our goal was to create an intuitive, user-friendly web platform that embodies the company’s warm and professional approach to doctor-patient communication. Also, the platform’s content needed to be clear and accessible to help medical staff monitor patients’ health, even after they have left the hospital.
UI solutions
Web application design
We improved the project by adopting a clear design that highlights essential information and provides helpful indicators for doctors, as the main task was to present data in a doctor-friendly manner. For this, our team designed various functional UI elements, such as progress-tracking graphics, sophisticated dashboards and icons, along with a unique complaint tagging system. Besides, we created a user-friendly onboarding process to guide users through a smooth and easy introduction to the system.

Balanced mix
Colors and typefaces
To foster trust and engagement, we crafted a conservative color palette, inspired by their signature blue, which is often associated with the medical field. Additional shades of green, orange, and red were strategically employed to enhance data visualization, provide visual cues, and establish clear distinctions among different data points. This palette was thoughtfully paired with a light backdrop, white cards, and subtle details, collectively contributing to a clean UI.
The choice of the Poppins font was driven by its slight stretching effect and optimal spacing between characters. This ensures readability and accessibility, which are crucial considerations when dealing with large amounts of data. What’s more, we built a detailed design system for seamless integration into development.
Chapter 2
Follow-up
After the platform was launched, the client reached out to us again with a need for a new branding and landing page design, to further enhance the presentation of their product. Broadly speaking, the client wanted a more solid appearance that would attract both patients and medical professionals.
Identity style
Brand restyling solutions
The client aimed to enhance their company’s image with a fresh logo and identity style, evoking sophistication and future-focused thinking. But the process wasn’t without its twists. Initially, the client wanted to get rid of their old logo. And after exploring several rounds of ideas, they realized the value in preserving their iconic brain-logo. Ultimately, we shifted the course towards restyling rather than a complete redesign. In light of this, our team refined the client’s existing logo, resulting in a friendlier touch with simple shapes and waves.
Furthermore, our collaborative work on the web platform’s UI design was fundamental. The client was so drawn to the colors and elements from our previous work that we were asked to shape their new visual identity with the same harmonious components. This decision helped make a smooth switch from the old to the new branding, ensuring a sense of consistency for both new and present users.
Web design
Landing page
The client needed us to create the Home Page that effectively shows how nyra health conveys the patient’s journey from the treatment at clinic to the care at home. Taking into consideration the client’s target audience of medical professionals and elderly patients with neurological conditions, we developed the design concept for the landing page. However, the client took it a step further and conducted testing of this concept with real users. Based on the results of this research, we created a second final concept. In it, we integrated and, at the same time, differentiated information for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Deliverables
UI Kit & Branding guidelines
This project deviated from our typical project approach: the initial phase involved creating a design system, while the second focused on branding. However, it was quite a unique challenge for our team, and we were curious to work on it. As a result, our team helped the client in defining nyra health’s image across platforms through branding guidelines and a design system with multiple components:
• Typography system
• Color system
• UI components (Buttons, Fields, Controls, etc.
• Icon Set
End result
Successful finish
Our team started the collaboration with the client by designing a new, modern web platform. As customers found it useful, we were asked to go further — refresh their brand identity and create an industry-centered landing, with various features, such as hero for the Home Page, progress symbols, and animations. To establish a new identity for the company, we designed a consistent UI Kit with a medical-centric logo, color palette, typography system, different unique elements, such as plus symbols and wavy lines, along with versatile marketing materials.

Problem
The client required a user-friendly and strategic interface for a platform used by medical professionals to manage and monitor neurological patients’ recovery. Also, they wanted to unify branding across their patients’ app and web platform for medical staff, showcasing professionalism, convenience, and consistency.
Solution
Our team ensured an intuitive UI for the nyra health web platform, simplifying patient data presentation. We restyled their iconic brain-logo, while refining its design for a more established look. Additionally, our team integrated visual elements from the web platform to ensure consistency across the client’s products.

Technologies used
To verify various hypotheses and to better understand what users wanted, the client conducted A/B testing and, based on this analysis, generated various tasks for us to implement. Some users were directed to the unaltered version of the site, and some would see the new one. One of the intriguing cases involved the testing of website registration methods:

Graphics and dashboards
To achieve a clear and simplified presentation of patient data and indicators in the platform, we organized the information into relevant categories and subcategories, streamlining navigation. Key metrics and crucial data were featured on the main screen, while visualizations facilitated quick comprehension. User-friendly data interpretation was ensured through the use of straightforward charts, diagrams, and tables. All in all, these graphs aimed to give doctors the same information they could get during real-time patient assessment.
Clear and accessible icons
To create a positive first impression and enhance UX, we added personalized icons, separated into three categories: Patient avatars, Mental Health, and Diseases. This made the platform more user-friendly and helped to communicate medical information to treating physicians or therapists.
Complaint tagging system
We developed a visual complaint tagging system to improve the usability and clarity of patient data in nyra insights. This system allows doctors to efficiently document patient cases in three steps: add personal details, document medical history, and mark anamnesis stages on a body map.
Seamless onboarding
To enhance the registration and login process, we designed an intuitive onboarding experience for the system. Users can now access the platform using alternative authentication methods like Google or Apple login. The onboarding process was improved by providing concise and clear steps for users to follow after registration. We divided the process into small, manageable steps accompanied by brief explanations and graphical cues, making it easy for users to navigate and complete the necessary tasks smoothly.

Hero section
The hero section is divided by animated transitions that split the page into 2 parts: for doctors and for patients. All in all, it highlights the company’s core message: therapy begins in the clinic and seamlessly continues at home using their platform. Such an emphasis on the “clinic > home” pathway showcases nyra health’s innovative and convenient approach for both patients and doctors.
Images and animations
One of the main goals for the client was to revamp the website, creating a dynamic platform for patients undergoing therapy. To achieve this, we incorporated a variety of animations throughout the design, focusing particularly on hover-triggered ones. This way, users hover over elements, such as buttons or images, and constantly see visual cues that guide their interactions. To strengthen the product’s message, we chose images with the target audience in mind — older people or those with cognitive challenges using tablets at home. These images convey health, happiness, and a sense of comfort.
Progress symbols
To illustrate a progress graph, our designers utilized symbols. In the context of a brain hemorrhage, for example, the graph initially displays a decline. However, through treatment and rehabilitation, plus signs appear, indicating improvement and resulting in the graph moving upward. This visual representation conveys the journey of recovery and emphasizes the beneficial effects of the treatment.
