Nature Morte Gallery — Design worthy of framing
Creating a place where classical masterpieces meet contemporary expression
Nature Morte is an online gallery for all things art and culture, which is why it has to resemble a work of art itself. With a mission to make art accessible and engaging, the company curates a diverse collection.
The idea behind the project is to allow both average users and connoisseurs to enjoy and draw inspiration from the greatest classical masterpieces of mankind while also giving more publicity to contemporary artists.

SOLUTION
The result
As you can see from the design, the picturesque combination of complementary colors makes the site look like a classical painting. It is calm and reserved, even somewhat austere, and that’s the whole point. The Templegarten font, resembling those of old books, further supports the historical theme. The site seemingly takes us back in time even before we start browsing its copious art collection. And when we do, the dark background helps the paintings stand out, creating striking contrasts.

As not every person is a tech guru, it was also crucial to simplify the website’s functionality, creating an intuitive interface with different languages available. Besides, the client put a strong emphasis on data security, as sensitive information about patients’ health must always remain confidential.

Some users were directed to the unaltered version of the site, and some would see the new one. One of the intriguing cases involved the testing of website registration methods:
